Artemis Expands the Institutional Team

Following the growth of its institutional business, Artemis, the specialist fund manager, has today announced the appointment of Benita Kaur to the institutional team.

Benita, who will take on the position of Institutional Business Developer, joins from Buck Consultants. Benita’s role will involve her working closely with the fund management team to develop the institutional side of the business and the institutional client base.

Benita has over 10 years experience in the investment arena. Previously she was Senior Investment Consultant at Buck Consultants. She also worked as Marketing Executive for Group Pensions and Investments at Confederation Life.

Mark Tyndall, CEO of Artemis said: “I am pleased to welcome Benita to Artemis. Her experience and expertise will greatly help with the development and growth of our institutional offering.”

Artemis won over £1.5 billion in new pooled and segregated mandates from UK institutional investors in 2006 (as at 30.9.06) and has accumulated in excess of £3.6 billion of institutional assets under management (as at 30.9.06) since the firm started accepting institutional money in 2001.

In March 2005, four institutional funds were successfully launched (Artemis Institutional UK Alpha, Artemis Institutional UK Growth, Artemis Institutional UK Special Situations and Artemis Institutional Equity Income). More recently the Artemis Institutional Global Capital Fund has been launched providing high performance solutions to clients looking to maximise the alpha opportunities available in global equities.

Artemis’ institutional business mirrors its retail investment strategy by focusing on high alpha, specialist mandates, reflecting the belief in its managers’ ability to outperform and its aversion to benchmark-hugging.
