Artemis Increases Smaller Companies Capability

Artemis, the specialist fund manager, has announced that Mark Niznik is to join the Artemis multi cap team later in the year. Mark will be working closely with two of the founding partners, John Dodd and Derek Stuart. Mark’s primary responsibility will be smaller capitalised companies.

Assets under management at the specialist investment house now exceed £14.7bn* of which over £1.5bn* is invested in smaller companies.

As active managers Artemis spends significant time researching smaller companies in the belief that above average long term returns can be achieved by selectively investing in such companies which are both dynamic and demonstrate above average growth characteristics.

With around 10%* of Artemis’ assets invested in smaller companies it is prudent to increase the fund manager resource to ensure that the investment process is both rigorous and scaleable for the future.

Mark Niznik said, “After 5 years at Standard Life Investments, I have been offered the opportunity to work with Artemis in their multi-cap equity team with specific responsibility for smaller companies. I am hugely excited to be moving to a company with such a unique culture and great team. The major attraction in joining Artemis was being able to work with some of the best fund managers in the country within a very special culture which they have built which fosters a great team spirit with everyone incentivised to make the best returns for their investors.”

Mark Tyndall. CEO of Artemis added, “I am particularly pleased to announce that Mark is joining the Artemis multi cap team. His investment skills, particularly in the difficult discipline of smaller companies, have been ably demonstrated over many years and importantly he will fit the unique culture that we have built at Artemis.”
